How does renting work?

Pick the gear and your dates, then send a request. The provider has 48 hours to confirm it. Once they do, you pay by card and the dates are yours. You collect the gear on the start day and return it on the end day.

How long can I rent for, and how far ahead?

A rental can last up to 30 days and can start up to 120 days from today. The end day is the return day, so the next renter can pick the gear up that day.

Can I rent several items in one order?

Yes, as long as they come from the same provider. Gear from different providers needs separate orders, because each provider confirms and hands over their own gear.

Where do I collect the gear?

Every listing shows the provider's area. The exact pickup point appears on your order once it's paid. Use the messages on the order page to agree a time.

What if something is wrong with the gear at pickup?

Check everything before you leave and tell the provider straight away in the order messages. If you can't sort it out together, contact us and we'll help.

When do I pay?

Only after the provider confirms. You then have 24 hours to pay securely by card through Stripe, or the order is cancelled and the dates are released. Nothing is charged before that.

Is there a minimum order?

Yes, card payments need at least BDT 65. Prices are in Bangladeshi taka (BDT), per day.

How does the security deposit work?

Some listings have a refundable deposit. It's charged together with the rental and refunded to your card when the provider records the return with the gear in good condition.

What happens if gear comes back damaged?

The provider can report damage and claim part or all of the deposit, never more. GearUp reviews every claim before any of the deposit is kept, and emails you the decision. Whatever isn't kept is refunded.

How long do refunds take?

Refunds go back to the card you paid with. They usually arrive within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.

Can I cancel before paying?

Yes, any time and free of charge, while the order is waiting for the provider or waiting for your payment.

Can I cancel after paying?

Yes, with a full refund, until 24 hours before the start day begins. After that the rental can't be cancelled online; contact the provider through the order messages.

What if the provider declines or doesn't answer?

The order is cancelled automatically and nothing is charged. You'll get an email, and you can book other gear for the same dates.

What if my payment goes through after the deadline?

If a payment lands after the payment window, or for an order that was already cancelled, it's refunded automatically in full.

How do I start listing gear?

Create a provider account, verify your email address, then add listings from your dashboard with photos, a daily price, how many units you own and an optional deposit. The AI listing writer can draft the description and suggest a price from your notes.

How do I handle booking requests?

New requests appear in your orders and by email. Confirm or decline within 48 hours, or the request expires. After the customer pays, mark the order picked up at handover and returned when the gear comes back.

How is availability calculated?

You set how many units you own. GearUp only offers the units that aren't already booked for the chosen dates, so two renters can never book the same unit.

What if gear is returned damaged?

When you mark the order returned, choose “Report damage”, describe what happened and enter the amount to claim, up to the deposit. GearUp reviews the claim and emails both of you the decision.

Why do I need to verify my email?

A verified email is needed before you can pay for a rental or publish a listing. The link we send works for 48 hours; you can resend it from your dashboard. Google sign-ins are verified automatically.

I forgot my password.

Accepted Answer

Use “Forgot password” on the login page. The reset link works once, for 30 minutes. After a reset you're signed out on your other devices.

Can I use GearUp in Bangla?

Yes. Switch the language from the top bar or your profile. Signed in, your choice is saved, and our emails to you use it too.
